Today we have a small 1U server that was developed jointly with Nvidia. It packs quite a punch for high-performance computing applications with up to four GPU accelerators or Field-Programable Gate Arrays. The last platform we reviewed, the R940xa, also supports four GPUs but that one had four processors plus a generous amount for storage, all in a 4U chassis. The Dell EMC PowerEdge C4140 is a high-performance compute module with dual Intel Xeon Scalable processors but very little onboard storage.
Dell says, “The Dell PowerEdge C4140 server is the industry’s leading accelerator-optimized, ultra-dense platform”. And I grabbed that right out of their spec sheet. What’s this system good for? Basically, all the cutting-edge high-performance computing applications… Watch the video!!

Once at minute 01:08, what a machine!
What was the volume and thermals like? Regular 1U servers can be pretty screamy and toasty as is, I imagine with four GPUs would push the fans even further to keep the system cool.
Sick, Yo. I appreciate all of your shits 🙂
nvidia will milk you(and your company) dry for these data center gpus. they are extremely expensive. how does a single tesla v100 for $6000 makes you feel?
Doug doing best express hardware review on youtube.
Everything is cool as always.
Sincerely, from Russia 🙂
This for a 1U is incredible
What will that cost
